Paul Pogba has recently talked about an incident that took place with him, giving him the biggest shock of his life. The player recently revealed that he had been held by two men at gunpoint demanding he pays a huge ransom.
Paul Pogba was demanded over £11 Million
Paul Pogba has revealed that the two men who held him at gunpoint demanded him to pay over £11 million.
According to the sources, the player revealed the details after his own brother “Mathias” had been arrested by the police and the authorities. The police are currently investigating the matter and his brother is being investigated for an attempt of extortion.
The police want to confirm if Pogba’s brother was also involved in the attempt, which resulted in the player being demanded to pay up to over £11 million.
The Incident
Pogba revealed that he was walking up to an apartment in Chanteloup-en-Brie when suddenly, he was jumped by two unknown attackers.
These attackers were armed and confronted him with aggression, pressurizing him to do as they instructed.
Right after they approached, they forced him to switch off his cell phone immediately. Then he was asked to hand over the phone. The men were heavily armed and they were also wearing bulletproof vests.
These attackers then went on to demand Paul Pogba pay up £11 million through means other than cash and pay £2.6 million in cash. They told Pogba that the money he pays them would go towards his future protection.
Pogba’s Reaction and Feeling
Pogba told the investigators that he was very scared after what had happened. What made things worse was that the two guys were pointing guns right at him.
He had never expected that he would end up getting into a situation like this. He stated the way they threatened him, shouted at him, and kept their guns pointed at him, he told them he was going to pay.
Fight against Organized Crime is investigating the Case
Paul Pogba gave his statement about the incident to the Fight Against Organized Crime branch, which reports to the Central Office. The particular department is now investigating the matter and will be getting to the bottom of it.
It was in the month of July when Paul Pogba filed his complaint. After his statement, it was reported that five suspects have been detained. The suspects were detained right after two months after the incident.
Pogba’s Brother Faces Charges
So far, Paul Pogba’s brother has been found to be involved in the incident. He has been charged with multiple counts of being involved in a criminal association and criminal gang extortion activities.
The police are suspecting that Pogba’s brother was involved in preparing for the entire incident. For now, no evidence has been collected that confirms that Mathias is one of the gunmen but he is linked with the incident.
