Sri Lanka and Holland completed 1st and 2nd in their individual groups to advance to the next round. The Netherlands lost to his rival that day, while the UAE beat Namibia by seven points.

The Nambia and UAE

This is the first T20 World Cup in the 2nd contest for the UAE. Thanks to Namibia’s inconsistent play, the United Arab Emirates led 148-3 with half-flyer Muhammad Waseem marking 50 of 41 goals.

Namibia then lost 69-7, with David Wiese scoring his 55th of his 36th and the Dutch players remaining on the pitch did not give up hope. However, when 14 points were needed in the final quarter-finals, Wiese hit an extra-base hit to give the United Arab Emirates a surprise victory and the Netherlands accidentally qualified.

Prior to this, Ksal Mendis struck 79 of his 44 pitches to lead Sri Lanka with a score of 162-6. Max O’Dowd shot 53 to 71 to keep the Dutchman satiated until the end, but lost 16 points and had to wait impatiently until the 2nd game was over.

Pressure level rises on Namibia

Namibia became rivals in the Super 12 phase with Sri Lanka. They stunned it  in their first match of the competition, which the United Arab Emirates have yet to win.

Their pitcher began well, limiting the UAE to only 30 runs in six innings he had, but then got an injury. Later after the first goal, Waseem stabilized the game, with CP captains Rizwan and Basil Hamid capitalizing on free bowling shots with fatal passes.

Rizwan shot 43 from 29 unsuccessful attempts and Hamid shot 14 to 25 to go 148-3, a better score than Namibia had expected. The UAE demanded a pitcher to support the game, and Nambia took advantage of the situation.

Hamid appended 2 more at-bats, and leading scorer Zahor Khan had a great 2-20 record over his four-day weekend. 46-5, 69-7, Namibia looked like it was over, but the Dutch players were in the stands taking pictures of their smiling players.
