The Philadelphia Phillies have become really invincible after one night.
Bryce Harper was on second base right at the center of the scene at that moment. The crowd was roaring in their seats. Just several moments earlier, he has proceeded with the double, which was the main and crucial strike for the rival team, the San Diego Padres, during the Saturday match with the Philadelphia. The final score was 10:6 with the latter winning the game. Now the team is one step away from becoming the world champions and taking a place at the World Championship.
The fans and the media
After the final score, the ovation was tremendous. Harper shouted with the crowd some curses and the phrase, that it was his home. Everybody was overexcited with the victory. The noise was just getting louder and louder as the team celebrated the victory.
In 45 minutes after the shocking victory, all the citizens of the city were ready for round two. They were eagerly looking forward to the next match, which was due on Sunday. But yet, Harper was still talking to the journalists and giving his commentary to the press.
The long-lasting rivalry
During the last 4 matches of the National League, the Padres have done everything possible to stop Philadelphia from moving forward at such a fast rate. But anyway, all the extra efforts and action that have been done were of no use. In a face-to-face match, the result was frustrating to the Padres. The loss was inevitable, no matter all the work that has been done.
In the first inning, the Phillies scored four runs to the rival team. The opener was a not so popular player, B. Falter. He has not been the pitcher since the beginning of October. He played during only six rounds and then was sent off the field. At first, the Padres were considered to be the winners. And all signs were just proving the theory. But it all turned out to be not true. Then five best players of the team did their best to change the course of the game – and they were victorious! Scoring 10 points in total, the Phillies have won the match and became even closer to becoming the ultimate champions.
