Jose Alberto Pujols Alcantara Hits His 700th Homerun!

A truly legendary achievement, maybe the last of our lifetime, was reached by Jose Pujols, the famed hitter for St. Louis Cardinals MLB team. His notorious nickname “La Maquina” is now carved on the walls of the MLB hall of fame thanks to his outstanding career achievement of hitting 700 HR in MLB games. In total, he hit 3,000 balls and was already included in the category of the greatest, but this milestone is completely different.

The story of the “Machine”

Nicknamed for his outstanding ability to hit the ball and create opportune situations on the field by precision and dedication, he was given only a 5% chance to get the milestone by the end of this season which is probably his last. He is one of the best hitters to ever play in MLB and his records are quite impressive.

He is not only great at hitting homeruns. Throughout his storied career, he managed to breach through the 2,200 runs battered in goal to stand next to Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth with the same achievement. He has been the MVP in 3 seasons and was featured on the all-star team 11 times.

Pujols’ style is described as powerful and patient with impressive precision allowing for regular contact hitting and the ability to send the ball where it makes the most difference on the field. The 700 homeruns milestone is certainly something that will solidify his incredible talent even if a hundred years later people won’t remember his showings. Only three players managed to reach this milestone.

The legacy will continue living on

Jose Pujols is likely playing his last season. He is 42 years old and has been playing in MLB for 21 years. During his long career, he switched teams only thrice: when he moved to Los Angeles Angels, to Los Angeles Dodgers, and back to St. Louis Cardinals. He is an avid charity donor, successful businessman, and a very influential athlete with a great legacy that he will someday pass on to the next generation of St. Louis players.
