Belgium Wins Over Canada In The World Cup Match

The head coach of Canada was left speechless by the FIFA award winner as he left the stage after being named the Man of the Match and the following face to the media.

After contributing to Canada’s first World Cup appearance in 36 years, the Belgian player was upset to be called commendable. For Roberto Martinez’s team, the only bright spots of a troubling evening were his candor and M. Batshuayi’s unpitying ending.

The poor performance

The player was not really satisfied with his game. He stated that his match wasn’t great, in his opinion. But he was glad his team managed to prevail. One of the journalists asked Martinez if this was Belgium’s team’s worst tournament performance.

To that, Martinez responded, that it depended on what the worst game means. And he was right. Martinez claimed that Belgium deserved to win. He insisted that they triumphed despite the poorest match results.

Only three of Canada’s 21 shots—against nine by Belgium—were on goal. One of them was a penalty kick made by A. Davies that Courtois blocked. The Belgium player stated that his football-loving nation was awaiting much from their performance, and every team member wished to make their fans proud.

Pressure to win

In contrast to the vibrant and edgy counterparts wearing stark white uniforms, they appeared somewhat ordinary. With a fearless approach based on pace and intense pressure, Canada was going to participate in the World Cup for the first time after its game in 1986, but just for the 2nd time in history.

However, Canada might have built comfy position for itself if it had more confidence after penalties and more anxiety before the final ball or kick. When T. Buchanan’s kick hit Yannick Carrasco’s extended arm, they were given a penalty right away.

Shikazwe, who has already been featured in the news when his team lost after extra time in a match between Tunisia and Mali for the Africa Cup of Nations, has changed his mind. Additionally, Davis and Jonathan produced ricochet hashes. So now the desire to win was again very intense, and the players finally made it.
