Durham has announced the departure of Chris Rushworth for some personal grounds that are not disclosed to the public after.
The former Durham player, thirty-six years old Rushworth has completed his work and career and decided to leave. He is also known as one of Durham’s most beloved players. He left the club 18 years after Durham’s A-League debut and announced his retirement on his behalf.
The long career path
He has appeared in 528 1st class cricket matches in the previous year, outstripping British cricket player Graham Onyon to turn into Durham’s most prominent player. Rushworth started his career at Durham State in 2013 in the Championship where he made 54 appearances and was part of the side that was victorious at the Royal Cup of London nearly a decade earlier.
For a player of such historic height, the decision to leave the team was extremely difficult. He wrote in his post on Twitter that the determination to depart from the Durham club was a difficult decision to make and he had been considering this action for quite a long time. And he had to publicly and unequivocally declare that he had to leave the company for personal reasons. The trouble was, of course, not in the team, the club or cricket.
Departure and thanks
He also sternly stated that Durham, the team he played for, was and will always be his club and, figuratively speaking, his home. He wished to thank everyone involved in his career, including coaches, coaches, players, support staff, and most significantly the club fanbase and teammates, who helped make him the man he is today.
Durham President Botham responded to his late fan’s obituary by saying Chris is known as one of the most talented pitchers of all time the state has known and had lived in his hometown of Durham for many years. He feels rewarded to have such a wonderfully gifted player in the Durham team. Nevertheless, he wishes the former player the best of luck in his new job, both for himself and everyone else.
